A little over a week ago, our ministry at WVU went on their annual weekend Fall Retreat in the mountains of Uniontown, PA. It is one of the biggest events of the semester for Crusade at WVU and over 125 students attended (of which more than half were going for their first time). Praise God! It is a weekend filled with inspiring Biblical messages, hours and hours of worship, true fellowship and a lot of FUN! Here are a few things students said during a sharing time at the end of the weekend:

"Because of this weekend and because of this ministry, I do not lose heart. This ministry encourages my walk with God so much" ~Heather, a sophomore

"The unity in Cru. is awesome. Someone I didn't even know wanted to pray with me. I love that Cru. creates such a great community for believers" ~John, a freshman

God is doing great things at WVU through our Crusade ministry and we want to be back really soon. However, because Brooke and I haven't finished raising our support, we weren't able to be a part of the planning process for the retreat and we were only able to attend for a day and a half. Nonetheless, we were so thankful to be there for a little bit of time and got to meet a lot of new students! They weren't new students to anyone else, but they were new to us.

Just meeting and talking with these new students was so encouraging, but at the same time, difficult. We really wish we could be back with students that are really wanting to live for God in college, but just need more guidance, discipleship and someone older to encourage them. Brooke and I want to be those people that mentor students to want to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus. However, in the last two weeks we have only increased our support by 2% (now at 92%), and we sometime wonder why we have to wait so long to be back on campus with the students. Of course, we realize that God is sovereign and His timing is perfect, but it is very hard to be patient. We would love your prayers as we continue to try and trust God in this area.

Love the picture of everyone worshipping with their hands held high.

Empty hands held high,
Such small sacrifice....
