The Students are Coming......

The day is almost here: WVU move-in day! Friday, August 17.
  • 6,000 new freshmen arrive
  • a total of 26,000 students move back to town
  • 100 Crusade students and staff dressed in bright orange-Crusade shirts meet and greet new students while helping them move into their dorms
  • Friday evening every freshman will go to new orientation in which they will meet all of the student organizations (that's us!). We pass out 1,000 mini-footballs with our worship meeting time and place, as well as give out coupon cards with our ministry's website on it (wvucru.com)
However, my wife and I will not be able to be a part of this important day because we will be continuing to raise our support. (We currently still need $2300/monthly support before we can start working with students again.) Crusade is a firm believer that a staff member should raise their entire support first, so that they may solely focus on ministry once they report to campus. We are enjoying the support process of meeting new people and catching up with current supporters, but we will truly miss the events of the first weekend & week of school. Our other staff member and intern, as well as our student leaders, will be working hard and we hope you will join us in praying for them. We truly believe this first week of school many times will determine students' friends, behaviors and spiritual focus for the entire school year. Join us in praying that God's name may be proclaimed loudly, that freshmen Christians will join our ministry, and that non-Christians will come to know the Lord.

Finally, as stated above, we are still working hard and trusting God to provide our financial needs. We have been making phone calls and meeting with groups of people to challenge them to join our team or to increase their support. If you would be interested in this, please contact us, or if you know of someone who might be interested in hearing about our ministry, please contact us as well. Your support and prayers are such a blessing! God Bless you!

I have been praying for your support, too. Wes and I are still figuring out what it means to have a budget--this is the first time either of us have ever really "been on our own" before. We can't commit to supporting you financially, but we *can* (and will!) commit to praying for you guys and trusting God to raise people up in our place.

ps: katy isn't your only reader ;)
