Ministry and Marriage!

Whether you're visiting our site after getting our monthly update letter, or just checking in sporadically...we wanted to share a little bit of our personal life too! Being in full-time ministry has so many blessings and it's great to be on the frontlines of seeing God work, but it also has some downfalls. We work really crazy and weird hours, and there's always work to be done--no matter how hard we try!

With that being said, we really believe that a major part of our ministry is to show college students what a Godly marriage looks like! So many students come from broken homes and have never seen a marriage based in Christ. So we are really adamant about showing Christ thru our relationship. It's not always easy, and marriage isn't always easy--but we trust the Lord to give us the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. God is soo good, and we want to show God's goodness in all we do--especially our marriage!

Over Valentine's weekend, we got to spend a day in colonioal Williamsburg. We went to the shops, we saw all the old buildings, and we got to eat a sweet local place. It was a great time to get out of town and remember the promise in 1 Peter 4:8--"Above all, love each other deeply...!"

Also throughout the day, we decided to take pictures of everything that reminded us of love. Maybe it's cheesy, or maybe it's cool...but we loved taking the photos! May you be strengthened today in God's love!

Hearts!!

Like Father--Like Son!

Not sure what this is supposed to be, maybe 2 people smiling together? But we like it!

JESUS!

This picture was actually on the back of an elevator door. Random! But once the doors closed we were so surprised to see this. BFF! Haha!!

RADIATE!

We recently attended our annual student conference called "RADIATE." Approximately 900 students attended and heard speakers, great praise & worship, and helped serve the world! Here is a video of some of things that happened and specifically the project that was undertaken to get students to pack over 1million seed packages that would go to families in Africa:

HELLO! Hope you're having a great day! Thanks for visiting our blog!

Here is a picture/map of the area we are doing ministry and the primary campuses we are working on. Since August we have been able to launch ministries at 3 of the 7 schools in the Tidewater area: Christopher Newport University(about 50 involved!), Old Dominion University(about 20 involved!), and Tidewater Community College(just a couple involved-very early stages). We have loved the challenge of launching ministries- it has truly grown our faith! We have seen the Lord do awesome things! We feel so thankful to be apart of it.

In the coming months we plan to launch ministries at the College of William and Mary, Norfolk State University and Virginia Wesleyan College. If you know any believers(students or professors/faculty) at these colleges please let us know. We have found that once you get a student or faculty member on board it is SO helpful with starting up a ministry!

Thanks for being apart of our ministry! We couldn't do it without you!

Here are just a few pictures from our 1st semester here in Tidewater:

CNU students at our cookout/volleyball night!

God has blessed us with an awesome staff team! We have 3 interns and a staff couple on our team, plus there is a new staff girl that will be joining us in the next couple months!

This is Ryan and Melanie! They are involved in our ministry at ODU.

Thanks again for visiting our blog. More pictures & stories to come!

Launching in Tidewater

Thanks for checking out our blog! The last couple weeks have been such an amazing ride, with so many unexpected blessing from God and of course a lot of rough patches as we've started to launch new Campus Crusade ministries in the Tidewater area. We hope that you will find visiting our blog enjoyable as we include other details, perspectives, and pictures we could not fit in our monthly prayer letter!

As our new team of staff and interns focuses on the enormous tasks of trying to reach out to the 10 majors campuses in the area--we are learning so much about the power of prayer and the tendency to lose sight of this discipline in the midst of the busyness of ministry. As we look to the future in our area, we are trusting God to use us to: "Launch movements that take the Gospel TO the 100,000 students in the 757area, so that everyone knows someone who TRULY follows Jesus (or bust)!!” Please be praying for us and our entire team as we trust God to do BIG things on campus.

A few highlights we've seen over the last 2 weeks of launching:

*We were part of an student organizational fair at Christopher Newport University (a small public university with 5,000 students). We were able to have 139 students fill out spiritual interest surveys and 133 of these students said they were either interested in being in a Bible study or interested in having someone talk about what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ!

*We had our FIRST meeting last week at CNU in which 40 students attended! Its truly amazing to see how God can really move in student's hearts to want to live for Him in college and want to be a part of our organization!

We look forward to updating you with more details as we begin to launch ministries at Old Dominion University (20,000+ students) and other campuses in the area. We hope you will join us in prayer as we trust God to use us to reach out to the 100,000 students in the area. God is faithful! Talk to you soon....
